In just a few short years, the Internet has become the ultimate source for knowledge. Yet, with more and more information about companies (and their products and services) being
published online every day, the Internet has become more difficult for Socially Responsible like-minded people to navigate.
Our mission at SociallyResponsible.Org is to help socially responsible people and businesses find each other. To accomplish this, we've built the Internet's most
comprehensive Socially Responsible directory, and we've built it to be fast and precise. You won't find advertisements, sales pop ups, banner farms, or other hurdles thrust in your
path. Our mission isn't to sell. Our mission is to educate and share consumer and wellness resources.
In that regard, SociallyResponsible.Com and SociallyResponsible.Org have been helping to improve the awareness of the "Socially Responsible Movement" since 1998. In 2002, we
decided to expand our services to develop SociallyResponsible.Org, Tools for Responsible Living. We are certain that after you peruse the directory it will become
part of your everyday Internet experience.
Our editors, staff members, and volunteers are comprised of Socially Responsible business people and individuals from California,
Oregon, Hawaii, New York, Nevada, Washington in the United States, and, Ontario and British Columbia in Canada, who came together in this unique electronic neighborhood to create a green website that is easy to
find, easy to navigate, and easy to join.
We agreed on our individual code of ethics, which includes our policy not to accept commissions on sales or sales-related affiliate
income, and to bring to the forefront every small idea, large idea, or global concern that has mankind's welfare and our planet at heart.
We agreed to offer a level playing field for all members
within each category, from the simple craftsman at a local fair to a global distributor of organic foods. We agreed to make it just as economically feasible for that
craftsman to be listed on our website as a well-funded global organization. We agreed we needed to reward, by public recognition, socially responsible businesses and
organizations, from small to large.
As individuals, we knew it was a good idea. As a team, we knew we could build the idea into a website. As a website, we
knew we could evolve into a thriving community. As an Internet Community, we know WE can make a difference. If you join us, YOU will make a difference.

December 23, 2002. SociallyResponsible.org is a Hercules-based site.
The Web site says its mission is to "help socially responsible people and businesses find each other." The site does this by providing a comprehensive listing of "socially
responsible" companies. Information on food (organic or vegetarian, no doubt), clothing, investing, travel and activism is available. As a directory, though, its design is bland.
At any rate, this do-gooder site may be worth a look.

We always appreciate press, and we don't mind being referred to as "bland" -- it's the risk we run due to our commitment to remain
free of excessive ads and graphics. We need neither. Thank you to the East Bay Business Times for sharing our Tools for Responsible Living. -- S.R. Team
